This post is about my favorite Makeup product: Highlighters!! We are in August now (and I know this post is a little bit late) but this is a product, which shouldn’t be missed in our current Makeup routine. Especially in summers I don’t like to wear a lot of products. A good moisturizer, some sun protection, nude lipstick, rouge and a lot of highlighter – that´s it. A little highlighter on the cheeks, above my lips and on my nose doesn’t hurt anybody.
I currently have three highlighters that I use alternately, which I want to share with you guys.
MAC Cosmetics Soft & Gentle
This was my first highlighter I bought. MAC describes it as a luxurious, slow-baked, velvety soft, domed face powder with a radiant finish. I bought this highlighter two years ago in the summer as I have read many positive reviews about it. This gives my skin a healthy glow and it is also a gorgeous highlighter. I use Soft and Gentle for everything. I apply it on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead using a fan brush from Zoeva. It’s not super intense or very pigmented, but it’s just enough.
nee Makeup Milano Mrs. Strobe Liquid
I ordered this gorgeous liquid strobe highlighter to test it as it sounded very tempting. This is how Nee Makeup Milano describes the product: due to its valuable texture, enriched with multifaceted pearl, gives a perfect adhesion to the skin, creating fantastic lighting Points. To be honest, I somehow wasn’t sure if I will like this product or not but for my surprise this highlighter exceeded my ecpectations. What I really like about it is the applicator brush. The brush just makes it super easy to apply it on the areas which I want to highlight. I don’t even have to use a brush – I directly work with my fingers and blend it into the skin!
Isadora Strobing Fluid Highlighter
This has been added recently to my faves list. Isadora describes it as a shimmering dewy glow. The sheer melting texture has a cushioning feel that optically blurs fine lines and imperfections with a soft focus effect. I like highlighters in liquid form. At first I was a little bit curious because fluid highlighters tend to make the skin look very oily, especially in summers. But this highlighter surprised me positively. If you want a subtle look, the product just delivers the right amount of glow. I would not say, that it is very pigmented, but it definitely is perfect for everyday summer looks. It makes my skin look fresh. It can also be mixed with foundation for a light glow on the skin. (You can buy the brand Isadora from Douglas)
These were my current favorite highlighters. Which is one is yours?
Lots of love,
